The Distra Therm Infrared Forehead Thermometer is:

Dual sensor. Scans forehead and temple area without touching to give an accurate reading in seconds (measuring distance up to 2.5cm). Touch mode for equal accuracy. Quick and simple to use. Suitable for all the family. Accuracy according to ASTM standard.

How to take a measurement: The thermometer should be in the room where measurement will take place 20-25 minutes prior to measurement. For best result, the person whose temperature is being taken should be in the same room for 5 minutes before the measurement. Clean the forehead from sweat, makeup etc;-and wait a few minutes before measurement. Press and release the On button and wait for the message ready to appear. The display shows the room temperature and the ready sign. Place the thermometer's soft tip at a distance of up to 2.5cm (1 inch) max, above the left side of the left eyebrow and move it up and down along the hairline towards the centre of the forehead. Read the temperature on the display.
Important notes: When the room temperature display indicates a temperature higher than 32.0C, one must push the On button again to start temperature measurement. Avoid taking a measurement for 30 minutes after physical exercise, bathing or eating. Avoid direct sunlight. Do not splash with water or immerse the unit in water. Do not use the thermometer when having scarred skin or other skin discorders on the measured area.
