Problem finding my size. Rating of 9

I often shop at George in Asda for my clothes, but for the last couple of months, I have been having problems with finding what I need.

I like the clothes because they're stylish, well made and affordable for what you get.

I usually go to George, and find what I want before I do my food shopping so I don’t need to search around lots of shops. Four weeks ago, I saw some black leather trousers for £50 that I really liked, but there wasn’t a size 10, so I asked an assistant, and she said that if she took my mobile number she would keep them for 24 hours when a size 10 comes in to the store. I hadn’t noticed the trousers before, so I’m sure they were new stock. A week after, when I went to do my shopping, I asked an assistant why I haven’t had a phone call, to inform me of a size 10 coming in, and she told me that the staff didn’t order the stock, and they just have to wait and see what comes in, and she said if nobody has phoned me, then no size 10s have come in stock. A week later, I went into the store, and spoke to another person, and I was informed there is a delivery of clothes four times a week, and as she didn’t have a record of my phone number, and somebody else took down the order so she would have to take down my number again.

I have been into the store to look for the trousers myself many times, but there only ever seems to be large sizes in stock, starting from a size 16.

I also often buy the Natural colour Soft sheen Hold up stockings in medium size, but half the time, all there are in stock, are the extra large, or small size. Sometimes it’s difficult to tell where to look for them, because the shelves aren’t labelled, and I might find the tights or stockings I want behind something of a different colour or size.

They also have a nice Bra, skin coloured with diamonte, in two styles, padded, and stretchy material, but all I can ever find in my size, is the padded one when I like the other one.

George at Asda versue George in the High Street Rating of 1

i have been delighted with George at Asda and the ever-changing ranges of fashionable garments which cost only a fraction of what is charged in some high-street shops. In Asda the clothes are well-displayed in a clean and bright environment.

I was most disappointed to visit George's first high street outlet in Croydon, Surrey. While the men's department on the top floor did not look much different from the Asda display, the women's department was a much different story. The first thing I noticed was the musty smell in the shop. Then I noticed that the clothes were ill-displayed and crowded together so tightly on rails that the garments beame creased. The lighting was also poor. All in all the high street shop was not one where I would chose to buy anything. The overall impression was of an outlet for poor-quality, cheap goods.

George clothes may be cheap, but I would not until now have considered them to be poor quality. I do not think the label has done itself any favours by opening the Croydon store.
