Just got back from Sandford Holiday Park, fantastic place and excellent value for money. We went on the camping site, pitch was good, and the facilities, could have done with a little more light so advisable to take a torch.
Staff was friendly and helpful, especially the Weststar Troupers, 4 of them in particular Steve, Adam, Gaz & Stacey, whom my kids loved. The shows they put on are fantastic, not to be missed!!
The main outdoor pool is really nice and warm, but the kids pool is dangerous and in desperate need of repair, floor is cracked so a child could easily cut their foot but there are plenty of warning signs.
If you can I would recommend taking your bike as it is a very large site and saves you paying to hire one of their bikes, which are not cheap! We are so glad we took ours.
There are plenty of places to visit in the surrounding area.
Overall a great place to go on holiday, we will definately be returning next year.

This was our first visit to a Weststar park,Sandford in Dorset, we decided to try it for the Christmas break and whilst I would not recommend living in a caravan during the winter the holiday itself was enjoyable. The entertainment in the main club was watchable though our children preferred Sid and Lizzie's show in the family clubroom which is great for keeping the young ones interested. We were pleasantly surprised with the food in the restaurant having pre-booked half board we were feeling a bit apprehensive as to what would be on the menu. There was a good choice of home cooked food, children's meals and a carvery every day and Christmas dinner was exceptionally good, I must praise the staff that day as they worked really hard and were allways smiling. I found the indoor pool to be a bit small but they do have a larger outside pool open Summer time, facilities at the site seem very good though most were closed over Christmas but we did get to go on the Go-Karts which the kids enjoyed. I would definetly consider returning to Weststar but in the Summer only though I would add anyone who can handle living in a freezing cold caravan, esspecially at night,to take a Christmas break at Sandford as it beats all that cooking and washing up Christmas day.

I had a fabulous time at this holiday park. The staff were most friendly and helpful, the park itself was wonderfully clean and new looking. It provided great evening entertainment, both for kids and adults. The park is set near some of the most beautiful beaches and villages that I have ever seen, and it offers real value for money. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Having experienced Sandford last summer, we decided to go back for a short Easter break this year. A couple of things weren't so good but then the park is just warming up for the new season. The main thing that impressed me was the entertainment for the kiddies. I would never leave my child in the care of anyone else and so I was present at all the activities. The fact that my child is an only child meant that she needed these facilities and looked forward to them everyday. The troupers were polite and friendly and given their gruelling schedule were very good with many a cheeky child.
We felt the restaurant wasn't as good as last year and perhaps the linen in the caravans could have been monitored for rips but genreally there was no harm in this holiday. It provided a welcome break from everyday life. We are already considering another break there next year!

I may only be 15, but i have found the weststar holiday sites to be the best i have been too. I have just arrived back from Sandford in Poole and wish i could go back. Weststar sites offer a wide range of activities and facilities for all ages. These facilities include:
Indoor heated Pool
Mini Golf
Arcade & club
Activities on offer are aimed at all ages and abilities ranging from training to be a trooper to sports.
i would also like to point out what a great job the weststar troopers do to look after everyone and entertain them. I would like to see alot more weststar sites around the rest of the uk

I visited sandford holiday park 2 years ago,and it was absolultu brilliant ,the entertainment was ace the staff were brilliant ,everythin was open . everything was clean, there was a brilliant room for children to use full of toys climbing frames .
Well i went back last week ,and i will say i will never go back there again . i went with my 2 kids and a friend and her kid .
The so called 'takeaway' was just a joke . It took us 20 mins to get 3 lots of chips , and then after them being trown at us by a spotty cheeky teenager . they were cold .
The childrens room has been moved , there was nothing left in there .couple of climbing frames , and a few chairs . - that was a waste of time really.
The entertainment was really crap , there was 2 main rooms - 1 which wasa for the older people ( bingo ) the other was for the kids- so we thought , they kicked the kids of up stairs while they then had adults stuff in there too . well i dont let my children be taken away from me , with a load of teenagers who cant even look after them selves , so them you have to keep you kids sitting still while ,they do bingo again.
stables it says in the advertising ... well thats a joke , you cannot enter the stables area , you have to stand at a gate unless you want to book a horse ride .
i will never be going to this park again , and would not recommend it to anyone .

I have been going on Weststar holidays for over 14 years now. I have been to Mullion, Looe Bay and Sandford Holiday park a number of times.

I have to say I feel the standard of service has taken a dive in recent years and after my holiday this easter I will definately not be going back.

In one week I have seen Violence, Theft, Vandalism and Drugs. This never happened years ago, all the staff were friendly and had time for you. the entertainment was fantastic (The Premier Duo and the Dancers) this has all gone now. It is full of 18 year old wannabees who just want to get drunk and don't really care about the children.

I have to finish with the lack of security. Anyone could drive onto the park as there is no barrier in use.

I was not impressed and feel the management need to take a good long look at what direction their business is going.
