Whilst shopping in Lisbon a few weeks ago I popped into one of the many Zara stores there. I couln't believe the prices of the clothes compared to the UK. The prices are at least one third cheaper abroad than, say, the shop in Milton Keynes. I also found that the sizes in Lisbon were larger than those in the UK. Good News for normal women. When will retailers in UK learn that the majority of women are shaped like women and not like broom handles!

I think Zara is a fantastic shop offering great clothes/designs at good value. It is a shame there is not one in my town centre and they do not offer an internet shop.

I agree that the clothes in Zara are cut extremely small. I'm a size 14/16, and love the designs of their clothes. However, I can never fit into anything they offer, even the XL stuff (which comes out as a large size 12). Even my husband, who is slim, finds their suit trousers too tight in his usual size, although the jackets fit perfectly, meaning he can't buy his suits there as they refuse to sell the jackets in one size and the trousers in another. The last time we were in the new Chester store, the 'manager' (who looked about 17) as very patroninsing and unhelpful. We've decided we won't be shopping there again.

Zara charge different prices from those on the labels of their clothes

Zara do have great clothes but unfortunately the English stores have a habit of charging their customers in sterling the same figure as is marked on the price ticket in Euros! Therefore if a pair of trousers costs 70 Euros (which is the equivalent of £49.21 ) Zara charges the customer £70 rather than £49.21 .
If you complain, assistants will all agree that that is incorrect but management will refuse to accept that they have overcharged and can be (and were in my case) EXTREMELY aggressive and unhelpful.
Some clothing on sale in the UK have prices in both euros and in sterling, and that is usually correctly charged with the price in sterling being the correct exchange price. However this is NOT always done.
