Carling Cup Matches
Wen It's Right, It's Right
Beating Chelsea put a nice big smile on Arsene Wenger's face and reignited his faint hopes of proving Alan Hansen wrong once and for all. The Arsenal manager has had a tough few weeks and he'll feel his decision to invest in young players instead of buying in ready made stars vindicated. "Spending £50-£60million doesn't make you stable. In fact, it puts you in a financially weak position. Some people say that to win they are prepared to make their club explode." We've no idea who he could be talking about...ehem... His point isn't being done any harm with the group of under 14s he has embarrassing the opposition in the Carling Cup. Wenger has promised to let his young stars play in the later rounds so expect a few less familiar faces. Can Burnley deal with Arsenal's future now? Tues 7.45pm

It's Come Out In The Swash
Although his time on I'm A Celebrity has proved Joe Swash wasn't exactly engaging in a radical piece of method acting when he portrayed a happy-go-lucky-cheeky-chap Cockney on EastEnders, he got rather upset when he found out what David Van Day has been up to. Van Day has been accused of bullying some of the contestants and in a speech that sounds like it has been lifted from one of Albert Square's finest scripts, Joe complained "someone is making a fool of me. I think David has taken my kindness and manipulised it." He should count himself lucky because we had to pay top dollar to get manipulised when we were in Bangkok. He may not be friends with the English language, but Joe could be King Of The Jungle by the Ender the week. I'm A Celeb Betting
Nedbank Golf Challenge
Kiss My Garc'
Until Tiger Woods makes enough money to build a spaceship so he can leave Earth and go looking for someone to challenge him, Phil Mickelson knows the number two spot is as good as it's going to get for him. So it's none too surprising that he's not very happy about being bumped down to number three by Sergio Garcia. The Spaniard supplanted Mickelson after winning the HSBC Champions and Phil hasn't exactly been forward with his congratulations. When asked if he felt Sergio deserved the number two spot he replied; "I won't answer that directly. But I think that he's played some wonderful golf this year. I haven't played to the level that I want as far as wins. I'll be looking to improve on that." So that's a big fat no then. Will Garcia prove two good in this week's Nedbank Challenge?

Mc Attack
We don't know too much about this BlackRock Masters event in London, but we can only hope Hawk-eye won't be used during John McEnroe's matches. The American will take part at the season-ending championships of the ATP's senior tour at The Royal Albert Hall in London and he's still massaging that ego. "This is a message for Pete Sampras, Stefan Edberg, Goran Ivanisevic and all of you other guys. I'm not coming to London to lose," the three-time Wimbledon champion warned, before he was allegedly told that Matlock isn't shown on British TV...."You cannot be serious!" he didn't add. Well, we had to get that in somewhere. Sampras, not surprisingly, is the favourite for the event. Who'll make a racquet and win the tournament? Live on ITV4
BBC Sports Personality Odds
Hamilton Should Lewis!
Modesty is a quality that'll help sportsmen and women attain the love of the public. Rebecca Adlington doesn't know this. According to the excellent paraphrasing skills of the print media, the Olympic gold medalist swimmer has said she's a more deserving winner of the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award than F1 driver Lewis Hamilton. "I think that Chris Hoy, with his three cycling golds, or myself, have better claims than Lewis. Olympics only come round every four years and it takes constant effort throughout that time to win. Lewis gets a shot at the world championship every year," she fumed, probably, forgetting to add, "Pay some taxes you little Swiss [insert derogatory term]." Backing Rebecca to win might Ad some cash to your account!
Merrill Lynch Shootout Betting
Not too k-Ian
Given the name of this tournament, it's quite apt our story focuses on the economic financial crisis as opposed to golf. A couple of weeks ago Ian Poulter was reeling after his driver was stolen at the HSBC Champions. Distraught, he pulled out of the following event claiming that it would take him time to get used to a new one. We can now reveal he just didn't want to fork out to buy a new one. In response to British chancellor Alistair Darling's plan to increase tax on high earners, Poulter moaned "What is he trying to do, drive us all away?" possibly contemplating a move to Switzerland. The Englishman teams up with Graeme McDowell for the Merrill Lynch Shootout, but are you banking on the duo to win in Florida?
Strictly Come Dancing Odds
Looking Bleak!
Viewing figures have plummeted since John Sergeant's exit. Adrian Chiles is shattered after West Brom lost again One Show co-host Christine Bleakley was booted off Strictly Come Dancing, but while it's been a bad few weeks for them, they've a plan to lift their spirits. Capitalising on his new status as a national treasure, Sergeant will team up with the One Show hosts to release a Christmas single. A show insider said, "John is such hot property right now and The One Show is delighted to have him involved. As for whether his singing is better than his dancing, the great British public will ultimately decide that." Er... we wouldn't trust them to do that. With only four contestants remaining on Strictly, who'll put their best foot forward and win?
X Factor Odds
Ruth-less
Simon Cowell, multi-millionaire music mogul and a bit of a dirty old man...allegedly. The 49 year-old X Factor has been ogling contestant Ruth Lorenzo since her first audition and now that the Spaniard has been voted off the show she's been revealing just what's been going on "I saw him in the hallway the other day. He came over to me, kissed me on each cheek and said, 'Are you all right, beautiful?'...he has that look in his eye. It's a bit awkward between us. It's too much when we talk. I'm like 'You shouldn't look at me like that.'" Ruth revealed she also has a boyfriend so the newly single Simon won't be getting a chance to enjoy "the two most talented things on the show" anymore. Without the sexy Ruth, who'll be the breast of the rest?
