So far have been waiting six weeks for my plants and am struggling to get a refund. This company is impossible to contact. Money was taken from my account six weeks ago, so I'm totally and utterly furious.
Can't get through on their premium phone line and no email either 1 out of 10

My order is over a month late now - it still shows as "Processing" on their website.
I can't get through to any person on their premium 08448 line and their online ticketing system isn't working either.

I ordered two buxus ball trees via an offer on Groupon, back at the beginning of February. I was expecting them to arrive in 3-5 working days as their website states, and especially since I had paid 7.95 for delivery when I live down the road to Chelmsford where they are based, I was not expecting any delivery delays. However, a whole month later I have still not received my order. Nobody answers their phone, they do not have an email address, you cannot go to their premises, and I have raised two support tickets on their website which have both been ignored! I have now demanded a full refund as this is just ridiculous and I am sick of waiting. If they do not refund my money I will not hesitate to commence legal proceedings. A complete joke of a company - stay away!!

Use them 4 years ago and the experience was not too good. Tempted by their January sale this year and tried them again. After reading all the negative feedbacks I worried. Raised a ticket through their website (had to use IE) and the responses were very good. Replied the next day and advice was helpful. Got my plants today. Good looking plants and nicely packed. Well done. When someone has done a good job a positive review is a must. The only concern is price. However sale price is ok.

I reviewed yesterday and unbelievable my 10 rose plants (an offer) arrived this morning by courier. They were well packaged with lots of moist compost around each root ball. Large, sturdy plants for a fraction of what they would cost in our local garden centre. I am more than well pleased with my purchase, well worth the wait.

Ordered roses 4/11/12 and got an email to say they had been dispatched 17/11/12.
To date 27/11/12, they have not arrived. I eventually got through to customer services today. The lady was to contact the courier and get back to me immediately. Still waiting on that call!!! Dread to think what the plants will be like, if they do ever arrive!! Will review again

I was sent dead twigs insted of plants; they NEVER answer calls (leave you on hold for 10 mins then cut you off) just another way of sapping money from you. They advise using the website for contact because "no one is available to take your call" the website help section keeps crashing and when you EVENTUALLY manage to get a message to them, they promptly ignore it. As another reviewer said: it is as close to fraud as you can get! Disgusting way to behave.

I highly advise all the people they have ripped off and refused to speak to, to get yourself on Twitter and Facebook to to warn as many people as possible to stay away from these crooks!!

As per nearly every other review listed here: I waited 3 weeks for plants instead of the 4-5 days. When the plants arrived (those that were not out of stock) they were unidentifiable as they were all sickly twigs, the leaves of them all having fallen off. I can not get through to the customer service, only recordings. Never again.

About as close to fraud as you can get. The email to which I foolishly responded offered "Stately 'Tree' Delphiniums - they grow and bloom every year, and will be delivered in bud right now, and bursting into bloom. Large plants, with multiple towers of flowers".
What I got, after a wait of 5 weeks instead of the 3 to 5 days promised was dried up little plants with a few inches of growth showing and of course not a flower in sight.
Web site and telephone systems appear to be deliberately set up so you can't contact them, and they don't reveal their email address.
Avoid at all costs.

I purchased on line a daphne some weeks ago. despite all the care I have taken with it , it has slowly died. Iarrived in loose soil which fell away on opening. When I complained they said it HAD been pot grown but the soil was replaced. I do not believe them. They are very very difficult to contact.

Re Gardening Express

I purchased 5 fruit trees from Gardening Express (2 apple, cherry, plum and a pear) and must confess I was initially very disappointed when they arrived as they effectively looked to be on their last legs; like semi dried twigs with a few roots. Irrespective I planted in accordance with the Gardening Express guidelines and following a good 48 hous soaking the roots in water I dug these in with a good mix of soil and fertilizer and with support posts and initially watered with a full bucket of water each day for about 2 weeks. Now 2 months down the line I am delighted to say that each one of these is flourishing very very well indeed with new small offshoots, leaves and flowers on the apple trees. I am very much looking forward to these bearing fruit, maybe this year but most certainly next year.

Gardening Express also sent me another tree as a replacement for one which initially did not take and this was dispatched to me in 2 days.

I say persevere and things will turn out okay.

Would I buy again? Well I've got a couple of areas in the garden which could accommodate another 2 apple trees so Gardening Express will be hearing from me with an order.
Avoid. They're very difficult to contact 1 out of 10

First up, I know I should have checked the internet first to see what reputation they have, but as this was from a deal (5 fruit trees for 20) on groupon or something, I didn't check in advance.

They set a delivery timescale, so I checked and it still showing processing after their initial delivery date. Contacted to ask when they would be delivering, and they said (all via website) end of the week. On Thursday, I checked on the delivery agent's site and it showed they were still awaiting receipt of the trees from Gardening Express. Next day it shows them as still waiting, but they eventually went out.

They arrived after 6pm Friday in a 12"x12"x66" cardboard box. I went to the van thinking that there was another four boxes, but no: all the trees were in the same box. Two of the trees (I say trees, they looked like sticks) had broken branches at the top where they'd been forced in as the box was shorter than they were.

There was a plastic bag tied to the bottom with about 1/2lb of fine dry soil in it, and a hole where one of the roots was sticking through. The "instructions" advised me to keep the roots and the soil damp, shame they hadn't bothered following them themselves.

I then tried to contact them to complain about the state of the product and the packaging, which is where my problems really began.

Their website - which is the ONLY way you can contact them for any customer service issue (the phone number reads out recorded information) - has had problems every single day this week when I've tried to view/update/add customer service tickets.

From the occasional time I can get it to work, it seems that they have still not replied to my mail of 14th April so I don't know what they're planning on doing regarding the damaged trees, and I can't send them back without raising a ticket with them and paying for the postage in the vain hope I get replacement trees (a refund would probably be less than any p&p costs I incur).

Avoid - unless you happen to live near Chelmsford (where I believe they're based) and can go round [edited] if you want to "speak to" someone.
