These people pride themselves on a non existant customer service.I ordered a fridge they took my money straight away, then advised me that it was out of stock several e.mails ignored then I asked for a replacement and told to contact sales,BUT GUESS WHAT YOU CANT AS LINES CLOSED AND A RECORDED MESSAGE. MY ADVISE IS TO USE LEGITE HIGH STREET SUPPLIERS CURRYS COMET FORGET THE COWBOYS

We ordered an LCD TV on line last Sunday knowing it would not be back in stock til the Weds. Only after ordering did we become aware of lots of negative experiences with the company which filled us with alarm. We would never have chosen 24/7 had we seen these postings first and we even considered cancelling the order. Our anxiety increased when the phone line said it was "temporarily suspended" and the only contact was via the website. But, the TV was despatched as promised on the weds and arrived this morning (Thurs) at 8.30am. That's pretty impressive under normal circumstances but three days before Christmas is incredible. I'm sorry some customers have had such awful experiences and for that reason we've only rated it an overall 9 - but as far as we are concerned it's been perfect. And at a very competitive price. Bad service can't be excused but it has to be put into context of the thousands of other satisfied customers who maybe never write back.

The reviews above say it all. I will just add that what I might have saved (had the goods ever arrived) was more than cancelled out by the cost of phone calls (holding on in a queue - or worse still after queueing and being connected to an operater only to be instantly cut off!)Emails are pointless they go unanswered.
In addition the sheer frustration I have suffered at the hands of these people (4 "100% solid" delivery dates later) is simply not worth the saving of £35 over the high street price. This is now in the hands of my credit card company.
UPDATE ADDED 8.12.04
I found the email address of the director of this company on another review web site!!!! He emailed me back almost straight away and very openly admitted huge problems with couriers and also his call centre. I now have my goods, I hope they work OK as I don't want to contact have to contact this firm again! I have to admire his willingness to respond one does not often get a repy "from the top" so to speak.

Due to the incompetence of the delivery firm they use - citylink the fridge I ordered ended up being returned to 24/7. I rang them 2 weeks ago, explained the situation and arranged delivery for the following Saturday. It didn't turn up. I rang them the following monday and was told that the goods were still in the warehouse. They then said they would be able to get the goods out by wednesday. I told them that I worked all day and had paid for a saturday delivery so wanted delivery on a saturday. They then suggested delivering to my workplace. After explaining that I would have difficulty getting a fridge on a train they agreed to deliver on the saturday just gone. Rang them on the Thursday to confirm delivery but needless to say it didn't turn up.
I have spoken to them today, cancelled the order and asked for a full refund including delivery costs. They have agreed but say it will take between 5-7 days. I have a feeling that my money will not be refunded without me having to chase them up again.
The money you may save using this firm is just not worth the aggravation. Their customer service is non existent. Although the people I spoke to were polite your conversations go in one ear and out the other as soon as you put the phone down.
UPDATE
Refund still not received after 2 further e-mails and a letter. I am going to make a claim through the small claims court
UPDATE 11/02/04
After reading lizzyann's review I managed to find the directors e-mail address on the pricerunner forum. He replied within 30 minutes and I have now received a refund. Using this company will save you money and you may be satisfied with the service if everything goes smoothly but if anything goes wrong their customer services department is the worst of any company i have experienced. Despite their website advising you that the best way to contact them is by email, I would not bother as they simply ignore them

I order a tv for £229, they took £458 from my account immediately, I received the product and was unhappy with it, returned it the same day and they accepted it and agreed a refund. 6 weeks and 18 promised refunds later they still have my money. They lie to you to get you off the phone, I will be contacting Trading Standards and Which shortly.
Terrible, terrible company.

I ordered a Thomson DVD/VCR Combi from 24-7 on-line. The delivery date was estimated to be 48 hrs. My credit card was debited £270 the same day. When the item hadn't arrived 10 days later I attempted to phone 3 times but the "operators were busy"(recorded announcement) each time. The total time I spent on the phone was an estimated 1 hour in total (It's a 'premium rate' line). I sent an email to "Customer Care" early the next morning. I am still awaiting a reply. I managed to get through on the phone around 4.30 pm tthe same day after another 30 minutes hanging on. I enquired about my order and was told that the item was unavailable and that my money would be returned in 3 - 5 days..
This is atrocious service.
1. Why did I have to enquire about it before I could be told? They had my email address.
2. Why does it take my call to initiate the return of my money?
3. How long would it have taken for for them to do something if I hadn't called?
4. Why do they call it "Customer Care"? It doesn't do what it says on the tin.
5. If they promise 48 hr delivery then they must have known the situation
within hours of the order going in.
6. Why is the item still on the website 10 days after it became unavailable?
7. What good reason do I have for dealing with them in future? (It will have to be
good)
9. Why did they debit my credit card when they didn't have the item in stock? Most reputable businesses have
safeguards in place to prevent this. Luckily, I haven't paid my card bill so I can stop the payment if, as I suspect, my money doesn't get credited back to me.
They need to do something about their atrocious phone/email service. It obviously should be used for more than taking orders.. They need to do something about responding to legitimate order enquiries by phone/email. I suspect that the senior management is either not overseeing the operation as well as they might or they don't care. Above all, they shouldn't treat customers in such a cavalier manner. They won't come back and word will get around.
I am now searching elsewhere for an alternative DVD/VCR Combi. There are some good dealers out there too.

If you want to pay a good price for goods that don't exist and never arrive then 24-7 Electrical are the people for you. They dont bombard you with e-mails concerning delivery updates and stock availability. They simply take your money immediately and then never contact you again. Put their call centre number on your "Friends and Family" list or better still call them from someonelse's phone. (This is fair comment from personal experience)

I recently ordered a Philips 55" TV from this bunch on the understanding (and checking with them) that it was available although not in stock. I received a call from their customer services informing me that they were having difficulty obtaining the item. A few days later they called again saying it might be a week or two before it would arrive. I was OK with this. About a week later I got another call telling me I could expect to receive the TV in about 10 days. A couple of days later I get another call telling me the TV would not be available until July!!! What a load of BS
Unknown to 24-7 I had been making enquiries with the manufacturer (since before the order, but thought I'd see if they could get the TV early) who had informed me that the TV had not been released in the UK yet and that no date had been set. This knowledge was easy to obtain so what planet are 24-7 on?
It may well be that they are in breach of Trading Standards so be warned before parting with your hard earned cash! Fortunately I deliberately used 0% Finance so my money was safe! I intend to report my findings to Trading Standards and see what they think.
On a side note, I have noticed that if you search the web you can find many items considerably cheaper than this lot anyway so my advice is look elsewhere.
Not to be trusted, not particularly cheap for many items, not worth the trouble. A rating of 0 would be more appropriate, but I'm not able to do that...
