eBid has been around a while now, although it's not as well known as eBay, eBid is now the second largest auction site in the UK, & even better it's based here as well, although they do now have sites on the US, Canada, Australia & Ireland, & beta sites running in some european countries.
The site has a professional revamp back in march, which makes it much slicker & easy to use.
As a buyer it's brilliant, because as the fees are lower for sellers, the prices are usually cheaper than ebay. The range of goods is growing all the time, & there are some remarkable bargains to be found if you care to browse. I was able to buy all my stocking fillers for last christmas, at a fraction of the high street price.
As a seller it's even better, as a basic silver member you can list your auctions for free, & only pay a 3% fvf when they sell, (they do charge for listing enhancements) other options for silver sellers are due to be added soon, which will make this option more attractive for the casual seller.
As a more professional seller you can take out either a platinum subscription, or pay a one off platinum lifetime membership fee. For this you can have up to 5 shops, & a number of other extras, including using video in your listings. As a platinum member a basic auction costs nothing, if you add a gallery picture, you then pay a 2% fvf when the item sells, obviously other enhancements do still attract fees.
The site isn't as busy as ebay, but membership is increasing steadily, as is the numbers of items listed, & sales are improving too.
So whether you're a seller or a buyer, why not give eBid a try?

The website design is bad the front page is to full and the whole site is all out of place. I don't know why its to popular it might be because the name ebid. The forum is just full of kids who have silly augments over ebay. I would not recommend ebid to anyone.
