I ordered Rugby tickets and was told that payment was accepted and tickets will be delivered the next day, they didnt arrive, with 24hrs before the event they told me that payment hadn't actually been accepted and that I wouldn't be get the tickets. The managers words were: "You ain't got your tickets darlin', what else do you want me to say??" http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2657 http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2657 Fri, 26 Feb 2010 12:00:00 GMT AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! by esiu Time wasters and liars - I ordered a pair of squash shoes for £45 from them in January 2010. Didn't receive on time so called them a number of times. Every time I was told that my shoes have been sent out on a specific date which was different with every phone call. When I called for the 4th time AFTER 3 WEEKS (!!!) and I heared the same story again I asked for the tracking number. I was then told "oh sorry, I meant they will be sent out today". Requested a refund - yet still no shoes and no money... Dealt mostly with [edit: contact directly for details] if anyone's interested. http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2656 http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2656 Fri, 19 Feb 2010 12:00:00 GMT Totally Unprofessional small outfit by ivertech They do not respond to problems after 5 months. Ignore financial settlemts. Spend [edit] no time on customer service. http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2655 http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2655 Tue, 09 Feb 2010 12:00:00 GMT No Accountability, Very Poor Customer Service & No refund by FAIRTRADE I thave used this company three times now. Twice with no problem but on the third time my parcel was not collected & I had no response to my emails until it was too late. My claim for a refund was apparently sent to the claims department but one month on, many emails later and two letters sent I have had no word from the claims department and no refund! Every time I contact them (you can contact them via email only the phones are not picked up) I am 'fobbed off' with a message that says my claim has been forwarded to the claims department. I suggest you stay away from this company as there is no accountability when things go wrong. http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2654 http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2654 Sat, 30 Jan 2010 12:00:00 GMT more reasons to be cheerful by mjcannar I've shopped at Morrisons since they opened their first supermarket and seen them change and adapt and now influence the other 3 big supermarkets. Their Market Street is great, with fresh produce, and they have now started 'Buy one get TWO free' giving me even more savings. On the odd occassion something hasn't been okay, I've always been dealt with quickly and courteously. I do go to other supermarkets just to check prices, but I'm happy that I'm getting the best value overall from Morrisons. http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2653 http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2653 Thu, 21 Jan 2010 12:00:00 GMT Gifts for someone special by JC56 I have just received my order and I am very impressed with everything from finding on your site, that 'special gift' to having it delivered. I received notification of receipt of order, when it was dispatched and even when to expect delivery. 100% brilliant. Thank you. JC56 http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2652 http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2652 Wed, 16 Dec 2009 12:00:00 GMT accepts orders but no stock by subelou I ordered on 1 Dec. The item listing said despatch 3-5 days, but this changed to 7 days. 9 days later I had to ask what was happening and they said delivery would be next week. But next day they cancelled the order having discovered they were out of stock, nearly 2 weeks after I placed the order. On the plus side, the website is nice and the prices are competitive. Just shame the service doesn't live up to my expectations. Not recommended http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2651 http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2651 Sat, 12 Dec 2009 12:00:00 GMT Please do not waste your time and money! by Liv In early summer this year I ordered around £80 of plants from the Gardening Express website. After a month of waiting for the plants to arrive I tried to contact the company. I never received a reply to any of my numerous emails and there was never an answer when I called the phone number on their website. Obviously feeling that something was not quite right I googled the company and through websites like this found that I am not the only one to have had problems! I contacted my credit card provider who were great - the money was refunded. I also contacted Trading Standards who logged the complaint but said that unfortunately they cannot investigate a company without a sufficient number of customer complaints. So if you have been unfortunate enough to have had a bad experience, please report it! What prompted me to post a review all these months later is that on Monday this week I received a newsletter email from Gardening Express asking me to "check out our new and exclusive plants and offers" Of course, they may have changed their ways, but I would not take the risk of finding that out. Why on earth would I want to place another order with a company that basically stole £80 from me?! http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2650 http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2650 Wed, 18 Nov 2009 12:00:00 GMT I like CQout because it is safe for buyers by RadioRadio I have been a buyer on CQout for several years and I prefer it to other auction sites, because of it security and user verification. They charge £2 to your card as a process of verifying user details, when you first register with them. The explanation on CQout web site is that it allows them to keep out the majority of fraudsters who give false contact details. That way I know I will end up dealing with real people. I know most other sites do not verify their users and other sites who say they are able to verify a user's detail without making an actual charge to that account are being less than 100% truthful. This is because until an actual charge is placed on a card it is unlikely that the rightful owner of that card cries foul! So a fraudulent or copied card can be used for validation successfully without the rightful owner ever knowing about it. The acid test is when a charge actually appears on the statement. I feel safe when buying at CQout and have never lost any money, because I use their in-house payment system SecurePay which gives 100% protection and all sellers are obliged to accept SecurePay, couple of times I have bought Games Consoles which just looked silly cheap and not surprisingly the items never materialised, but I was not in the least concerned, I reported them to CQout, I got a full refund and the sellers were banned from the site. This is a very different experience to the payment protection at say PayPal, where in my experience they are so many conditions and get out clauses which make actual level of protection “not worth the paper it is written on” ( as the expression goes ! ) The only downside of CQout is that is does not have as many items as say eBay, so you can’t always find what you want, but I always search to see what is listed at CQout before going elsewhere if I have to. http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2649 http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2649 Sun, 15 Nov 2009 12:00:00 GMT No customer care no refunds no communication by loud1965 Despite threatening court action Gardening Express still haven't responded to letters, or support tickets raised. Do NOT use this company if your life depends on it. http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2648 http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2648 Wed, 04 Nov 2009 12:00:00 GMT Everything an expectant mum could ever want! by shelleyjb416 After unsucessfully trawling several maternity wear sites I was lucky enough to come accross mama-la-mode. I was able to purchase my entire maternity wardrobe in one place, without having to adapt my style just because I'm pregnant. Mama-la-mode sells everything from underwear (thank goodness for maternity spanx) to jeans and beauty products, all of which are delivered quickly and packaged beautifully. An absoloute haven for soon to be mummys :) http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2642 http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2642 Tue, 22 Sep 2009 12:00:00 GMT Morrisons are like RYANAIR! No EMail contact address! by cromwell We are used to contacting people around the world by mobile phone and emails and SMS Text messages! But Morrisons Customer Service is NOT contactable by EMail! Just like RYANAIR really and because of this, immaterial of Morrisons share prices and other ho ha they put out I only rate them 3! I can contact ALDI and LIDL Cusomer Services by Mail and if they can do it so should Morrisons, even if the head office is in Braford! http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2640 http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2640 Thu, 03 Sep 2009 12:00:00 GMT Disabled Car Parking by CommanderA I have been endeavouring for the past 2 years to get my local store to install a Car Park Attendant without success. I shop on average twice a week and always have problems parking due to non-disabled drivers parking in the disabled only bays. Are they aware that by not policing the disabled bays on its premises, they are failing to provide people with access to goods and services as specified in Section 19 of the Disability Discrimination Act. Recently a disabled driver scored a resounding victory when he took a supermarket giant to court and was awarded £5000 for disability discrimination. http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2638 http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2638 Thu, 03 Sep 2009 12:00:00 GMT Rude staff by heatonian For the last 5 years I have downloaded my digital photos for printing at the shop, taken my receipt and returned 2 days later to collect and pay. Yesterday I went to leave with my receipt and was summoned back as if I had stolen something. I was then made to pay in advance. When I said I had never done this before I was told it was the new policy. When I suggested it would be helpful to let customers know this before rather than shouting at them I received blank looks. The staff in the shop used to be quite reasonable but recently seem to have been replaced (edited). I will not be using the shop again. I am putting my review here because the complaints e-mail doesn't work. http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2639 http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2639 Wed, 02 Sep 2009 12:00:00 GMT Very bad stock control (online) by Jojo I am becoming increasingly frustrated with this site. I used to relish the fantastic offers and sales they had, well everyone loves a good bargain! Sadly this site appears to seldomly update it's online stock anymore, leaving a would be customer feeling deflated and somewhat cheated! An example of this was when they had a fantastic clearance of Principles items - I rapidly began filling my basket with items and was picturing myself wearing them and having some change in my pocket at the end of it... sadly as I got to checkout every single item I added to my basket was out of stock. A one - off? No- sadly this has been a re-occuring incident with them. I don't even entertain this website anymore, it just not worth the hassle! http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2636 http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2636 Mon, 31 Aug 2009 12:00:00 GMT DO NOT TOUCH GARDENING EXPRESS WITH A BARGEPOLE by elainebarry1 Do not touch this company. They are nothing but con merchants. I put in an order and they said my details hadn't gone through. re submitted them and they took two amounts out of my bank account. They will not refund my money. Kepp well away from Gardening express. I wish I had read the reviews before submitting my order. Do not be conned like I was http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2637 http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2637 Tue, 01 Sep 2009 12:00:00 GMT Do not recomend by vickiandjaimie I have had a additions account for 7 years and i returned a falty item for the 1st time this year which thay had the cheek to send back to me and charged me for the postal cost and admin, im still trying to get hold of additions but keep getting tranferd to differnt people. I also returned another item which they put a credit on my account for but then took the money back a month later saying in never matched there computer records so now have to sort this out with the cowboys. I dont know what has happened to this company it could be that they have changed there name to Very or maybe thay have always been ripping me of. I will be closing my account and would recomend all that use this company to keep all your return labels in a safe place and to check your account carfully http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2635 http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2635 Thu, 27 Aug 2009 12:00:00 GMT Cause for concern? Service leaves something to be desired by sportygirl Ellie gray offer a fairly nice selection of sportswear but given the problems I've had with orders, I won't be shopping there in future. I discovered anomalies on several consecutive orders, including items which differed from those I'd ordered. There is a time and cost associated with returning incorrect items but that's the least of it. I had several unresolved account issues following on from the afore mentioned anomalies. Customer services responded to a couple of emails and then simply ceased to respond. Very strange. For the reasons stated, I now shop elsewhere. http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2634 http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2634 Wed, 26 Aug 2009 12:00:00 GMT How are they still in business? by Claretta I can echo everything other posters have said, although my experience has a new wrinkle - having said they would give me a refund (which of course didn't happen), they sent me (on the very same day) a plant which I had not ordered. So I have spent £55 to get one plant which I did not want. I am now pursuing them via my credit card company, and I have a feeling they are going to claim they did fulfill the order. So be warned - if they do send you anything, check it before you sign for the parcel. http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2633 http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2633 Wed, 19 Aug 2009 12:00:00 GMT DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY by nic1kennedy I have been trying since May to get a refund on goods ordered in Feb.No point in trying to phone this company as you will get no answer. I have submitted 12 support tickets and am getting no where. Phoned Trading Standards - advised recorded delivery complaint letter to Chris Bonnett Have templates on their web sites. If can not get any joy from them I am to phone them back. http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2632 http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2632 Tue, 11 Aug 2009 12:00:00 GMT 100% Cancellation charge by Gazza Great company taking your money but awful if you have a problem. We had to cancel due to a very serious family problem. They took all our money as a cancellation fee nearly £600 AWFUL NASTLY ORGANISATION http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2631 http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2631 Fri, 07 Aug 2009 12:00:00 GMT Dry Cleaning by SMC Please be careful when using Morrisons for dry cleaning. They recently damaged a dinner suit by melting all the buttons and then blamed the manufacturer and refused to do anything about it despite the fact that this suit has been cleaned on many occassions. Lesson learnt don't use supermarkets for dry cleaning use professionals http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2630 http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2630 Thu, 30 Jul 2009 12:00:00 GMT Insure and go -- STAY AWAY !!! by erwee Airline lost my luggage for 5 days. Had to spend about 100 euro on clothes and essentials until my bag was returned (HALF what was “allowed” under my “cover”). My spare insulin was in my main bag. When my main supply failed, I had to go to hospital in Greece to get a new batch. Back in London, I was told (BY THEIR SUPPORT LINE) to submit 2 claims, 1 for essentials and 1 for medic cover under the same policy. They rejected the medical claim (full doctor + medial receipts) saying it was my fault for not having a spare set (IN MY LOST BAGS!!) ... as for the essentials claim, 3 weeks later I got a letter saying I’m suppose to claim from the airline first, then from them. Also, that the receipt for a backpack to hold all my new clothes (18 euro) and a receipt for underwear (5 euro) was missing. Funny, because they were the top 2 receipts sent back in the envelope, proving that not only do they not honour their policies, they actually can’t read. STAY AWAY!!! COMPLEYELY DISINGENUOUS, UNHELPFULL and in the end, COPLETELY USELESS AND A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2629 http://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2629 Wed, 15 Jul 2009 12:00:00 GMT Ideal for Brazilians by nandocuca I searched for a good 'Picanha' (Brazilian Rump cut) for a while.
