UK High Street Shops and Services12060Jane Norman Returns Policy by lwrightI spend a fortune in Jane Norman at Bull Ring Birmingham when I visit every couple of weeks.
Last week I purchased a top which was half price and when I got it home it was far too tight so tried to return it but was told you have to exchange for another item, you cannot even have a credit note.
I spent about an hour in the store trying to find something I didn't really want, in the end I was forced to choose a white top which I'm not over keen on.
I shall not be shopping at Jane Norman again, they don't deserve customers with a returns service like this.

I usually NEVER shop in Jane norman and this was a spur of the moment purchase. The dress was reduced to �22.50 from �40 and felt even though I normally hate Jane Norman for this price I could oversee the brand and cut out the label so no one would know which store it was from!!
I wish I had never bought it now, it fitted appallingly!! I am a clear size 8 if not a little smaller-this dress would barely do up around my boobs!!
I then went to return this to the Cardiff store and was told no refunds on sale items. What a completely rubbish policy! This was not mentioned at all to me during the transaction- had it been I defintely would not have bought it as I didn't have time to try it on.
I tried to point out this should be clearly stated if this is such a strict policy and had no help of the girls what so ever! I then sadi fine I will sell it on ebay if they are not going to be helpful- they then continued to shout back at my mother and myself as they didn't like that we were complaining about what is clearly a fault of the stroe for not making it a policy for assistants to mention this to all customers.
I also agree with many of the reviews on this site- the attitudes of the sales assitants stink!! I have worked in retail for nearly 10 years. You have customers who argue and are not happy with refund policies-it comes with the job. if you have any sense, you are polite back apologise and merely take in your stride-YOU DO NOT SHOUT BACK AT CUSTOMERS!
I shall be taking this up further with Debenhams as I do not feel as a customer I have been informed correctly nor treated with any respect at all.
Do not shop at this store- it is cheaply made and only staffed by young girls who should clearly grow up a bit. the power clearly goes to their heads.

My daughter decided to buy a top and proceeded to stand in a queue for the tills for 20 minutes. The item which had been discounted down from �25 to �12.50 if by a miracle was now �25 again, even though the marked price was �12.50.
I spoke to a very arrogant girl called Sue on the till and asked her how they can sell goods at well above the marked price. She said that they did not have time to change the prices. I asked for the head office address of JN, which she finally gave me.
Very shabby and underhand business ethics at this busy time of year.

https://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2588Tue, 00 Dec 0 12:00:00 GMTPoor quality stitching by emma907I was recently in jane norman in aberdeen, and was buying one of the lovely purple/black striped dresses, jane normans clothes do look wonderful, but after trying on the dress, i notices the stithcing along the straps were loose,.. i looked on the rack for another one in my size, and they all had loose stitching.. i managed to get 10% off for the damage when i bought it (i easily fixed the stitching myself) but you wonder how long the rest of the stitching will last, and why are the clothes so overpriced for such cheap workmanship (AND they are made in the UK)!!
avoid jane norman unless you can get the price slashed!

https://www.theukhighstreet.com/perl/review.cgi?ReviewID=2582Tue, 00 Dec 0 12:00:00 GMTJane norman rubbish customer services by bailMY daughter has paid �30 for a small jane norman short sleeved roll neck jumper - shes 14 and loves her clothes - she wore it the once then notived a big hold in the knitting at the neckline - she still had her reciept so i took it back for a refund for her - they wouldnt refund or exchange and said they wanted to send it all the way to head office for there decision as they didnt think it was a manufacturing fault!!!! i had the biggest row in the world with the 2 girls - its blatant there is a great big hole for everyone to see and the stiching that holds the knitting has come undone - the girls said because it doesnt keep coming undone or running as such its stopped at a point its not a maanufacturing fault ! - give me some strength im fuming !! the item is faulty at the end of the day whether or not the stitiching runs or not ! rubbish rubbish rubbsih shop - its such a shame as jane norman do have some beautiful clothes but if anything goes wrong forget it ! my daughter spent �70 in the shop that day on her hard earned own money shes 14 - they have tucked her up and more or less robbed her of her money ! somethink seriously needs to be done - if i had gone into next there wouldnt even be a question of exchange they would have doneit with no hassles at all - rubbish rubbish shop!

I have never in my life heard of such appalling customer care from a high street chain. We are in the process of writing to them with advice from consumer direct. My daughter or her friends will never shop there again.

At then end of my shopping trip i still didn't find what i was looking for so went back into Jane Norman to get the dress only to be told the dress was marked down by mistake and if i still wanted it it would cost me �40 full price!!!! No way i said thats your mistake not mine and as a ex retail worker i know the price you see is what you pay. She wouldn't have it and her attitude got worse. I was not a happy shopper!

Several of the big wooly jumpers i have purchased have shrunk all were took back to the shop everytime was told i was washing them on a hot wash thats why and it was my fault. My defence i hand washed them as i though they might as the material was wooly NO REFUND OR EXCHANGE GIVEN.
A nice long jumper with a rolled neck after 1st wash had two massive holes because of the sitching!!!
The staff are up their own bums look at you like a piece of crap how dare you distrub their mindless chatter of boyfriends and sex with wanting to buy something or would like to ask a question!!!!
On a good note i bought a backless top and a dress both have survived so far..... BUT for how long!!!
The quality of the clothes has gone down hill big time in the last year or 2.
VERDICT- Stick to highstreet stores like Riverside, republic, newlook etc as they have a proper returns policy friendly staff and good quality clothes, do not be blinded by the nice bright bold designs of Jane Norman unless you never wash your clothes
so they can not break.

Ridiculous, like I am going to do that and spend more money on it !!!! The quality is so rubbish and the prices so high I wont be buying clothes from Jane Norman again

Which cost me around 90 pounds.
The jeans are perfect.
But the lovely tunic i bought had to be restitched by my aunt.
So i went to one a town near me and spent about 150 pounds on 2 jumpers and 1 top.
I got them home and put on the jumper the next day and it had one almighty hole in it.
So we decided to make a trip back and get a different thing.
So when we get there they say they have to send it off to be checked to see if it was a machine error...I have never heard so much rubbish in my life.
Thankfully because my dad was there i ended up swapping it for a gorgeous dress.
And the other item i bought a blue top has become unstitched.
The girls are rude as hell and they think the world owes them one hefty favour
Do not try to get a refund!
You will fail
