Avoid this gallery at all costs! On the 16th June 2021, I took a painting, worth £40000 into the gallery to be framed and in doing so, I said to Liz, the manager of Speed Frame, Lincoln, that it was a very expensive painting and could extra care be taken, when being framed. Two days later, I received a call from her, telling me that a SCREWDRIVER had been put through the canvas. As you may imagine, my shock and horror, on hearing this! However, what the manager failed to tell me was, that an adhesive has been applied, to cover up the Company's recklessness, without my permission. Is this a criminal act! I suggested to the owner of the gallery, a Mr Stuart Alcock, that the painting should be sent to Simon Gillespie Studio in London, to be restored. Several days ago, I received a call from Mr Gillespie, informing me, that he was unable to get the the adhesive off and as a result, in his professional opinion, my painting has lost 15% of its value. When I contacted Stuart Alcock, he told me, he wasn't prepared to offer me any compensation, apart from some free framing. I am appalled at how this gallery, is treating a customer and I would never use Speed frame, Lincoln again! If there's anyone considering using Speed Frame, Lincoln, I would strongly suggest to them, to think again!
