He stood out as a child for his talent as a caricaturist, shared, at a very young age, his enthusiasm for light with Eugene Boudin, became friends with Pissarro, Jongkind, Sisley, Bazille, Courbet, Renoir, Nadar... lives his paintings refused at official Salons, then acquired by the dealer Paul Durand-Ruel who made them known in New York. He unleashed praise and criticism, before becoming the leader of the impressionist adventure. He experienced doubt, mourning, misery and glory... designed a magnificent garden in Giverny, spoke of his horticultural projects with Georges Clemenceau... This man, who passionately loved the fleeting beauty of the moment and of whom all the world's museums are now competing for works, it's Claude Monet. Florence Gentner has brought together in this photo album, old documents and drawings made by Monet or those who were important in his life, extracts from the painter's letters and testimonies from those close to him. Cet homme, qui aima passionnement la beaute fugitive de l'instant et dont tous les musees du monde s'arrachent aujourd'hui les oeuvres, c'est Claude Monet.
