The Conetastic Cone Mandrel Set from Beadalon is an ingenious tool to create wire bead caps and cone shaped elements for your jewellery designs. This versatile tool was developed by Sandra Lupo, and features three different sized cone mandrels for creating various widths of cones. To use the Conetastic tool, simply insert your desired mandrel into the base and tighten into place with the allen key supplied. Place your wire into the hole near the base of the mandrel, hold in place with your thumb, and gently twist the mandrel until the wire spiral reaches the top. Alternatively, you can hold the mandrel still while you carefully wrap your length of wire around it - whichever method is the most comfortable for you! When your cone is complete, cut the ends of the wire with flush cutters for a perfectly formed wire cone shape. All three mandrels can be stored away easily by unscrewing the bottom of the base. Mandrel sizes are 5mm - 2mm diameter, 8mm - 2mm diameter, and 11mm - 2mm diameter. Wire from 0.41mm to 2.10mm in diameter can be used with the Conetastic mandrel set.
