Poems by William Cowper, Esq. of the Inner Temple with the life of the author by the Rev. T. Greathead in two volumes. Both volumes are bound in full red contemporary morocco with gilt borders, in excellent condition. The pages have gilt edging, are slightly discoloured with age but no blemishes or markings. Volume 1 - x and 242 pages; volume 2 - iv and 280 pages. There are many black and white illustrations (which have slightly darkened the opposite page). At the beginning of volume 1 there is an introduction, 'With the life of the author' by Rev. T. Greathead. Gorgeous, collectable poetry in lovely condition for 1821.
