Repousse hammers, also known as chasing hammers, are used in conjuntion with repousse and chasing tools in order to form metal into complex relief designs. This repousse hammer features a large, 32mm diameter flat surface on one face of the hammer, making working with chasing and repousse tools and punches a much easier process. The small ball pein head can be used to hammer directly onto metal if required. Chasing and repousse hammers also feature slender, ergonomic handles which make fast, continuous light blows of the hammer much easier to achieve - a property which is essential when undertaking complex repousse and chasing work. This useful tool can also be used for planishing, chiselling, peining and for light riveting.
