The Aqualung Twins And The Vanishing People

A scarce first edition copy of "The Aqualung Twins and the Vanishing People" by Frederick B. Falkner- with elusive dust jacket cover. Part of a series of children's fiction, this second book- Aqualung- is a story not of underwater discovery, but of the hidden secrets of the land of Mexico. The twins, Grant and Pamela, go with their parents on a trip to a small village on the Mexican coast, where their Uncle Harry lives, studying the lost cities of the Aztecs. The two make friends with a pair of Mexican children and begin exploring- leading to the discovery of a strange man lying unconscious, dressed only in a feathered loincloth, and a mysterious cave guarded by Aztec statues... Although originally published in 1957, the book may still make a good adventure read for children today, packed with plenty of mysteries and surprises. It could also make for some casual light reading for an interested adult. Condition wise, the book is very good, with no spinal damage or loose pages, and with corners only very lightly buffed and scuffed. The dust cover is also completely intact and hardly marred by wear and tear at all. Inside, the pages are crisp and clear, with no added annotations or highlights. There is, however, an ex-library stamp within and along with the page edge covers- but that does not otherwise detract from a very well preserved book.
