Edinburgh: Thomas C. Jack. Llundain: John G. Murdoch. No date given. This hardcover Bible is in good condition. There are no internal markings or annotations within this book. The text pages have the odd mark or stain here and there. There is some scattered foxing particularly around the plates. None of this makes the text illegible or obscures the images in any way. The edges of the text block have tanned with age. The pages continue to sit together well. Externally, this book has black leather covers that are highly embellished. There is gilt lettering and decoration present across both covers and the length of the spine. The top left hand corner of the front cover is rubbed which has worn away that top black layer of cover material (please see photograph). The same can be seen at the top of the spine. This book has been protected well by its brass edging. The edging is now a little buckled and is loose in places. There is only one clasp at the bottom end. Please take care handling this book as the loose brass edges are quite sharp and the weight makes it a touch unwieldy. The hinges of this book are intact, the binding feels tight and there are no loose or missing pages. This is a used book in good condition with beautiful coloured plates. There is some wear externally but the contents remain perfectly fit for study. (PLEASE NOTE: Due to the weight of this item, it will be dispatched by courier.)
