After shopping with other online grocery firsm OCado was a pleasant surprise: few substitutes, reliable deliveries and fewer damaged items. This week all that changed. Huge stock shortages on their website. Then delivery with 7 items listed as out of stock and 2 charged for but not delivered. 20 minutes wait to get thru to call centre and then a denial anything is wrong. No reply to e-mail. Really poor service. Such a disappointment as I've recommended them to so many friends

I dont like Supermarket shopping. I only seem to get Saturdays and Sundays free to do it and thats when the whole World seems to pile in and raid the places as if theres famine just around the corner. I've tried shopping on-line with Tesco and Sainsbury and not been impressed. Too many items missing, rediculous substitutions, fresh produce past its best etc. So when I saw an Ocado van in the area a couple of weeks ago I thought I would give them a go. I was not holding out much hope, but I have to say that they have surpassed my expectations.

Their website is extremely easy to use and very clear. You can make your order and then go back and amend it any tie up until a set time before your booked 1 hour delivery slot.

The quality of the food that was delivered was truly excellent. A little more expensive than the major Supermarkets, but as with everything you get what you pay for, and as a sweetener they sent a free gift.

Out of the 54 items I ordered there was just 1 substitution and by way of apology that item was given to me free of charge. A very nice touch.

Everything arrived in bags marked 'Cupboard' 'Fridge' 'Freezer' etc. Again, very different from the service offered by the large Supermarkets.

So to sum up, yes, Ocado is more expensive than the others, but the service and quality is far superior.

Definitely recommended.

When i first shopped with Ocado,the service was excellent!Deliveries always on time,customer service staff very helpful on the phone.Now after the eighth delivery on the run late,past orders being cancelled & given ocado shopping vouchers time and time again,I feel lucky to get my shopping at all.I`ve figured out why they give free vouchers now when things go wrong,its because us as the consumer are led to believe that we are getting a token of goodwill.Wrong,its to make us shop with them again for another expensive order.I didn`t want vouchers,i just wanted the shopping that i ordered in the first place.I don`t know what`s happened to the level of service that i was once used to,but I won`t be ordering from them again.My friend suggested Tescos,and has said that she has never has a problem with them.I shall be trying their services.
