It was released to celebrate the centenary of this wonderful, ever-respected record-label, in 1997 ... Disc One : 25 Scottish lieder Op.108. Disc Two : 25 Irish lieder WoO 152 (beginning). Disc Three : 25 Irish lieder WoO 152 (conclusion), & 20 Irish lieder WoO 153. Disc Four : 12 Irish lieder WoO 154, & 12 various lieder WoO 157. Disc Five : 26 Welsh lieder WoO 155. Disc Six : 12 Scottish lieder WoO 156, 7 British lieder WoO 158b, & 6 various lieder WoO 158c. Disc Seven : 23 various lieder WoO 158a. (Photo Two : Top, card outer. Centre, the two jewel cases. Bottom-left, the main booklet. Bottom-right, the additional booklet for Spanish & Italian languages [see further down this text]) The main booklet is 240-pages in length, in EX- condition and mostly mono, except for the Outside Covers plus three, lovely full-colour portraits of : Beethoven himself ; Austrian master Josef Haydn ; And, the famous Scottish publisher George Thomson (who bears an uncanny resemblance - in the portrait by printed in this booklet - to Franz Schubert!). It contains : General series intro., by anon. ; Tracklisting ; Performance & recording-credits ; Fascinating 14-page essay, by B. Cooper (intro. & essay both printed in English, German & French languages) ; 154 pages of lyrics, in parallel English & German languages - sorry no French ; Alphabetical index of lieder in this collection ; Helpful guide to the rest of the "Complete Beethoven Edition" series. In addition - for ITALIAN & SPANISH lovers of Beethoven -, there is an extra booklet (18pages ; EX condition ; mono), containing both general series introductions, and probably-edited versions of Cooper's essay. The card outer, is in VG+ condition. Disc One is in VG+ condition. Discs Two to Five, are all in EX condition. Discs Six & Seven are both in EX- condition.
