The A.B.Q. were also assisted, by brass players of The Juilliard School on these recordings, all credited within the package) An eclectic mixture of pre-Vivaldi, Italian (- except for Heinrich Schutz's case, German -) compositions here, all from the Late-16C or Early-17C, on a collectable compact disc-package that was released in 2005, and featuring recordings made by The American Brass Quintet : Mostly recorded in the town of Bronxville, in New York State, in March '04 ; except for the very-last track - Gabrieli's "Sonata XX" -, which was recorded in the previous month, at the Juilliard School, in New York City. The label is "Summit" Records. (Photo Two gives the tracklisting, plus timings and birth-and-death years of the composers) The cover opens into an EX- condition, four-fold (sample Photo Three) containing : Front-Cover image, "The Campanile & Doge's Palace, with St. Mark's in the Background", by J. Holland (1799-1870), with an even-fuller version printed, on one of the colour sides of the four-fold ; Tracklisting ; Performance & recording-credits ; Fascinating, three-page essay, by R. Mase (trumpeter / flugelhornist with The A.B.Q., see top of listing) ; The Reverse-Cover contains a full colour still of The American Brass Quintet (Photo Four). The CD is in VG condition.
