Chris Allard is a guitarist who has worked with many of the most talented names in both jazz and pop / rock-music, since he graduated from the London-sited "Guildhall School of Music and Drama" in 2004, where he studied "Jazz and Classical Guitar" ... Chew on these names : Dame Cleo Laine ; Sir John Dankworth ; Jamie Cullum ; Paul Roberts, of the Nineties & Noughties iteration of "The Stranglers" ; John Helliwell, the saxophonist of Seventies legends "Supertramp" ; and "The BBC Big Band", to name but a tiny few! This album was recorded and produced as recently as 2022, by Mike Trim at Gecko Studios (I assume this is the titular "Gecko Studios" at Graveney Marshes, in Kent[?]), and released on the "Perdido"-label. I have placed it in Oxfam's "Jazz" category, for want of a better description ... 1) "Ocean Mirage", composed by C. Allard. 2) "Tridence", composed by R. Robson. 3) "Erin", composed by Allard. 4) "Snake Steak", composed by O. Hayhurst. 5) "Driving Home", composed by Allard. 6) "See you in Spuyten Duyvil", composed by Hayhurst. 7) "Time is no Fool", composed by Allard & Jacqui Dankworth. 8) "Study in Thirds", composed by J. Turville. 9) "Melodic Collective", composed by Allard. The card cover opens into a mono gatefold (sample Photo Two) containing : "Thankyous" & "Dedications" ; Front-Cover still-credit, taken by J. McKay ; Thumbnails of Chris and the four co-musicians on these recordings, namely (anti-clockwise) trumpeter Robbie Robson, pianist John Turville, double-bassist Oli Hayhurst and percussionist Will Glaser. The CD is in EX condition. (This particular product has neither a catalogue no. nor an E.A.N. [barcode])
