1986. One Hundred Years of the Blues - Bedford RUFC 1886-1986. THE Bedford "Blues" were formed in 1886 when the Rovers and the Swifts joined forces. Within 10 years the new club had established itself as one of the best in the country. The Blues beat the Barbarians the only time they played them, and in the record breaking season of 1893-94 they lost just one of 29 matches. Most of the material for the book has come from newspaper archives and club records as well as the memories of those who could recall the good old days. The book contains more than 200 photographs including, where possible, a team picture for each season. It is intended to appeal to anyone who has ever been connected with the Bedford club. The dust jacket has some tears along the edges. Not clipped. The text is clean and unmarked.
