A History Of Metallurgy (rare The Metals Society Classic Text - 1st Ed 3rd Imp) / R. F. Tylecote

This rare paperback book is in very good condition. The cover is in very good condition, with just a little edge wear, but the spine is substantially faded and the top of the front cover is also a little faded. There is also an area of loss of colour on the front (see image). Internally the pages are in very good condition - clean, tight and unmarked, with little sign of use. This book is an introduction to the history of metallurgy from the earliest times to the most recent. A study of this magnitude, embracing many of the countries in the world, cannot be treated adequately in one volume....It is felt that there is a demand for a single volume work from students of metallurgy and archaeology, not to mention the far greater numbers interested in the study of the history of technology in general. In the present volume we are concerned with such important subjects as the rise of metallurgy in the Near East and the Industrial Revolution in Western Europe. "If you are interested in the history of Metallurgy, then this is the book for you. Very detailed, incredibly well researched, and terrifically illuminating of the genius of those who have been smelting and working with metal over the past five thousand years."
