This book accounts his travels and researches in South Africa. Rebound with original leather covers on brown cloth boards and binding. Gilt stamp on front cover from Tulse Hill School and pasted in presentation note dated 1864. With a folding frontispiece and a further thirty-four plates and in text black and white illustrations, including a folding map at the end of the book. Very good condition, internally clean and bright.
