One of a series of children's books on heroic deeds conducted in the name of the British Empire by Lieutenant-Colonel Frederick Sadleir Brereton who often wrote under the name Captain Brereton, a British Army medical officer and author. There is advertising for other Blackie publications at the back. First edition published in 1906 The cloth-covered hardback is worn but intact. The binding is sound. The pages are spotted but very readable. There is a dedication in pencil on the free front endpaper. The frontispiece is missing.
