An Autobiography from Henry Cooper (1972 Coronet Book from Hodder Paperbacks Ltd., London) This book, as the title states, is an Autobiography and "highly engaging life story" about Henry Cooper, who according to the back of the book, was "for years", "one of the most popular national figures - for his courage, his skill, his modesty, and his humour. He was the first person to put Muhammad Ali (then Cassius Clay) on the seat of his pants in professional boxing. He was for many years British, Commonwealth and European heavyweight champion. He was twice voted B.B.C. T.V. Sports Personality of the year. The events leading to these recognitions are all recorded in this book. But this is much more then a memoir from a famous ex-boxer. All Henry Cooper's warmth, his interest in other people, his championship of young fights and talented young people is recorded here." This book is in good condition, with a mostly pristine paperback cover, though a minor stain is shown on the very top of the book's spine. The pages have also gone brown with age, but are still intact. Oxfam Books and Music Dorchester attempts to list items accurately but as a used item this may benefit from a professional clean.
