With the latest version of the Blanca, Apex rip up the rule book on making ski boots and seriously challenge the traditional brands when it comes to performance and comfort. Their unique system of stiff frame and separate walkable boot set them apart. The frame provides the rigidity, power and precision for skiing, as well as adding customisation through adjustable lean and flex. The walkable boot has a 2 Boa system for an even closure and a heat mouldable liner for the best fit. Step in and ski; step out to walk more comfortably than in any plastic boot. Ability Level Boots9 Overview Fit Feels surprisingly snug, provides firm heel and ankle hold with a medium width on the forefoot. Adjustable instep and rachet straps give flexibilty for height over the instep. Shell Open Chassis. This is a totally unique design that, unlike traditional full shell plastic boots, is just a frame. In addition to the comfort this can provide, it also offers a customisable flex that is independent of fit, along with superior stability and precise edge control, plus an adjustable flex-arm with four forward lean positions. The lateral stiffness of the chassis and cuff provide a direct connection to your skis, providing powerful energy transmission and precise control. Liner Custom Fit, mouldable. A high-quality liner is critical to any ski boot. The Apex Custom-Fit liner can be heat moulded and fitted to meet your individual needs. Combined with the Walkable Boot, the Apex boot liner provides added warmth and comfort to enhance your ski experience. Uses an expanded neoprene toe-box for added comfort. Key Features Walkable Boot Snowboard boots have always featured a soft exterior and comfort that no ski boot could offer. Snowboarders could perform all day on the mountain, and then walk around at the end of the day in the same boots and never worry about loosening them up. The Apex Walkable Support Boot provides the comfort and warmth of a snowboard boot that you can ski in all day long. Separable from the Open Chassis, the Walkable Boot provides a full-traction outsole for getting to and from the mountain in comfort and safety and 360-degree support without pressure points thanks to two separate Boa zones and 14 points of closure. Locks into the Chassis for a solid connection to your skis. Boa Fit ClosureApex design incorporates the game-changing Boa reel and stainless steel cable lacing system to provide precise control by locking your foot firmly into the heel pocket. This is a powerful, lightweight closure system with micro-adjustability to create a glove-like fit where adjustments can be made quickly on the fly. Read more about Ellis Brigham
Ellis Brigham was born in 1933, the brainchild of Frederick Ellis Brigham, who set up business making cycling shoes and walking boots in a tiny 'two up, two down' building on the outskirts of Manchester.
After the war, as mountain walking and climbing became more and more popular, the shop began to sell ex-WD climbing equipment and Brigham's boots with their special nailing patterns became very sought after.
Fast forward almost 80 years and Ellis Brigham now has 24 shops across the UK and a leading website, making it the UK's premier retailer for ski hardware, mountaineering equipment and outdoor clothing.
