New for 2013, the Apple Design chess pieces are hand made from Sheesham and Yellow Boxwood. This distinctive fruit shaped design is a nice retreat from the ubiquitous Staunton design. The pieces are well balanced for such a unorthodox shape and feel ergonomic & comfortable in the hand. Although the design is a serious departure, there are subtle references to Staunton making it very easy to distinguish one chess piece from another. Height of King is 8.9cm - 3 1/2 inches Weight of King is 48g Height of Pawn is is 5.7cm Weight of Pawn is 20g King's Base Diameter is 3.8cm Overall Weight is 1.2kg Materials used - Sheesham, Boxwood Suitable for Boards with a Square Diameter of 4.5 cm and above.
