Architectural Composition. Nathaniel Cortland Curtis. J.H. Jansen, Cleveland, Ohio, USA. 1923. First edition. Hardback in Good condition for its 100 year age (dark blue cloth covers with gilded titling on the front cover and spine, the latter now faded ; light wear and marks on the covers ; lightly tanned pages ; slightly browned discolouration to the edges of the end papers ; fold out photograph of a site in Rome opposite the title page becoming slightly detached ; otherwise, clean and complete) Written by the then Professor of Architecture at Tulane University, Louisiana, a definitive and authoritative work at the time about the fundamental principles of architectural design, illustrated in superb b/w line drawings by the author, with illustrations on many of the pages. A rare and valuable find for the architectural historian and specialist collector, but of fascination and information for the general reader too
