Aristide, Warlord Of The Resistance
Merchant: Oxfam
Merchant's Category: Media> Books
The book presents the exploits of SOE agent "Aristide", real name Roger Landes, who arrived in occupied France on 31st October 1942 after parachuting from a Halifax bomber at the unusually low altitude of 250 feet. He established a network in Bordeaux, a centre of interest due to it being a base for U-boats. Eventually, he became a senior Resistance leader with an unofficial "army" 7000 strong. The front free end-paper carries a dedication by the author and a brief greeting from Aristide. There are no illustrations. The multi-coloured paper dust jacket appears to be clean and free from damage although the price has been clipped. The black cloth full covers also appear to be clean and free from damage. The binding is complete and all pages appear to be clean and free from damage.
