The Armada ARV 106 is the ski that loves a powder day but is just as capable of cruising the pistes or throwing down in the park, and its super fun handling tempts you to explore and play no matter what the terrain. With a 106mm footprint and Smear Tech at the tip and tail, this ski guarantees a surfy ride in soft snow and ensures easy release when needed. A robust Poplar-Ash core and AR75 Sidewall construction absorb high-speed chatter on hardpack and deal with whatever concrete, wall or rail you dare to conquer. It s a tough, durable ski that remains playful for an exhilarating day on the mountain. In essence, the Armada ARV 106 is a snow-surfing, boundary-pushing, all-mountain thrill ride that lets freestyle skiers, like you, live out their adrenaline-fueled dreams. Terrain Type & Ability Level Terrain Type It s a wide-bodied park ski and also an all-condition, all mountain model. It has the performance for anything on the mountain and at any speed too. Smear Tech at the tip and tail boosts the soft snow handling with better release and smoother initiation. Skier Type Freestyle skiers who want to go everywhere on the mountain. The width boosts float as well as stability. The flex keeps things playful but is easily stiff enough for high-speed turns on pistes and going full-gas through chopped snow. Overview Shape 106mm in the waist does put it in the bracket of the wider park skis but it never feels unruly and this width is super useful when skiing elsewhere on the mountain. The 20.5m radius (180cm) ensures good stability without making it feel slow to turn. Rocker AR Freestyle Rocker uses rockered tips and tails combined with positive camber under foot to allow the ski to charge with ease through unpredictable snow and maintain a solid carve when asked to do so. Turn the whole mountain into your playground. Core Armada s Poplar Ash Core uses lightweight poplar combined with higher density full-length ash stringers to create an impossibly lively ski that has all the power needed for boosting to new elevations. Construction The AR75 Sidewall uses semi-cap sidewall along the majority of the ski with a full cap at the tip and tails. This combination helps absorb high speed chatter and impacts from jibs. Key Features 2.2 Impact Edge Heat treated and built to avoid excess weight while maintain durability, this edge gives the best balance of durability and feel of the whole Armada collection. S7 Base The perfect blend of durability and speed. Smear Tech A 3D beveled base in the tip and tail creates a unique feel in all snow conditions. Less likely to catch in crud, self-centering in deep snow and un-catchable on take-offs, Smear Tech lets you float effortlessly whether sliding forwards, backwards, left or right. EB tester's comments: Luke (Buying Team) Changes your perception of how a 106mm ski should handle. It's agile and surprisingly good on hard snow; variable and soft snow is where it truly comes to life though. Ellis Brigham was born in 1933, the brainchild of Frederick Ellis Brigham, who set up business making cycling shoes and walking boots in a tiny 'two up, two down' building on the outskirts of Manchester.

After the war, as mountain walking and climbing became more and more popular, the shop began to sell ex-WD climbing equipment and Brigham's boots with their special nailing patterns became very sought after.

Fast forward almost 80 years and Ellis Brigham now has 24 shops across the UK and a leading website, making it the UK's premier retailer for ski hardware, mountaineering equipment and outdoor clothing.
