The Arturia Mini-Filter is an expanded plug-in recreation of a classic 70s Moog Monosynth 24dB/oct low-pass ladder filter. Originally debuting in 2004 the Mini-Filter featured on the Mini V emulation but now exists as a standalone dedicated plug-in with a wide range of refinement and enhancements for modern producers DJs and musicians. Transform your instruments and add exciting dynamic elements to your music with simple low-pass filtering to smoothen out a harsh vocal or experiment with the onboard LFO eight-step Step Sequencer and Envelope Follower for added modulation and movement to your music. An essential tool for expressive production Mini-Filter delivers the familiar warm smooth tone of vintage hardware into your DAW. Five LFO modes with DAW sync offer a wide range of modulation possibilities coupled with the Envelope Follower to modulate parameters based on your incoming signal Mini-Filter offers much more than a traditional static filter. And with the eight-step Step Sequencer you can modulate three parameters simultaneously synced to your DAW tempo and add rhythmic complexity with automation for even more varied filter sounds. Promotion: Taken from the legendary Monosynth of the 70s Boasting Arturias True Analog Emulation (TAE) technologies the Mini-Filter is another achievement in plug-in design development. Beginning in 2003 Arturia collaborated with legendary synthesizer designer Bob Moog to recreate a range of distinguished hardware synthesizers as software plug-ins. Continuing from this successful partnership Arturia decided to expand the sonic possibilities of a legendary hardware ladder filter from the iconic 70s Monosynth and bring it to new life. Accurately emulating each individual component down to their instability and interaction this 24dB/oct ladder filter taken lets a new generation of musicians and producers discover the sound and power of classic hardware tones with the flexibility of modern recording techniques. Now with the TAE technology Arturia Mini-Filter produces the same warm and highly-musical tone which you can implement into your productions. Explore creative filtering Conventionally a filter will be used to remove any excessive lows or highs from a signal source. While expanding on the tradition to offer a more creative filtering approach this typical approach to filtering is still very much possible. You can use it to remove the extreme highs of an audio source letting you get creative with your fades to introduce new sections or instruments in a song with more excitement and movement. Excellent for shaping vocals you can soften the harsh high-end information of a lead vocal to help it sit nicely within a mix or pull the cut-off frequency down to let only the low-end through for a unique effect during vocal breaks or mid-sections. Pair this with the onboard Drive control to add harmonically-rich distortion which pushes the filter aggression to its limits. Cutting through a dense mix has never been easier. Mini-Filter can be used to transform a part into something entirely new with the onboard eight-step Step Sequencer. Rapidly fluctuate internal parameters using automation changing your input audio into a rhythmic energetic sound completely reshaping the way you approach adding dynamic and movement to a mix. You can blend the original signal into your mix using the Dry/Wet blend control to help tame extremely over-the-top settings to sit better within a mix. What if youre feeling adventurous? Theres no limit to what you can experiment with thanks to the flexibility of DAW processing. Run an entire mix through Mini-Filter all at once drastically altering your sound in ways you may not expect. A source of inspiration to achieve a sound you may not have expected to work this can of course be blended with the Dry/Wet control to seamlessly sit within your mix! A new world of possibilities Enabling you to sculpt and shape your sounds in exciting and drastic ways Mini-Filter is much more than a standard low-pass filter you will see inside your DAW. Whether youre a DJ producer guitarist or vocalist Arturia Mini-Filter will spice up your music. Expanded far beyond the possibilities of the hardware original Mini-Filter encompasses everything from an LFO Envelope Follower eight-step Step Sequencer and much more. From the Sample and Hold to the sequencer its truly a sound designer engineer producer or musicians dream to experiment with unique filtering tones. The crux of the plug-in the Low-Pass Filter section gives you access to the most crucial parameters including the Cut-off frequency Emphasis aka the resonance that boosts the frequencies around the cut-off input Drive control for adding harmonically-rich distortion to the filter section and output control. This is where you will fine-tune your creative filtering to add movement and dynamics to your sound. The LFO module allows us to modulate a parameter with five different waveforms and a wide Rate range from slow to audio range. Beyond animating the Cut-off Frequency and Emphasis you can synchronize the different waveforms to your DAWs clock. Perfect for adding rhythmic complexity to your signal with automated controls. The Step Sequencer allows for the automation of three parameters simultaneously using it to modulate the Cut-off frequency can give movement to an otherwise flat drum groove or chord progression instantly. This highly creative modulator lets you accurately set a value of up to eight steps that can control the Cutoff Frequency the Emphasis and the Rate of the LFO. You will be able to use it in sync with your DAW and soften the transition from one step to another to radically extend your creative horizon. The Envelope Follower tracks the level of the incoming signal and uses it as a modulation source. This could be assigned to the Cut-off frequency opening the follower with the peaks of your audio for a gated-like sound. The sensitivity controls the vertical follow-up while the attack and decay can be used to smooth the follow-up on the time axis. The Filter MINI Envelope Follower can thus be used for affecting the sound at an audio rate or inversely more subtly to follow broader volume variations. Fully MIDI-compatible you can access every parameter with a controller or take advantage of your DAWs automation lanes and adjust parameters dynamically throughout a song. For example you could create an auto-wah sound where the filter cut-off is automatically adjusted in your DAW. Powered by technology Using proprietary modelling algorithms Mini-Filter can recreate the iconic hardware down to the component parts to create unrivalled realism and immersion. Unmatched in analog emulation Mini-Filter is powered by TAE and Phi technologies. TAE offers component-level modelling to accurately present the characteristics and behaviour of the hardware whilst Phis state-of-the-art physical modelling brings the acoustic properties into the virtual world for hyper-realism. The result is truly a next-level sound that is indistinguishable from the original to add to your productions. Reviews "Holy smokes... This thing is on fire.
