Thirteen page article on the first Ascent of K2, written by Prof. Ardito Dessio in the Geographical Journal - September 1955. On 31 July 1954, Italian climbers Achille Compagnoni and Lino Lacedelli became the first people to reach the summit of K2, the second highest mountain in the world after Mount Everest, which had been summited for the first time the previous year. The expedition was led by Ardito Desio. This issue of the Journal is in Very Good condition with slight fading to the spine.
