Intermediates and lighter weight advanced skiers should head straight for the Hawx Prime 100. For 22/23 GripWalk soles have been added to make using the boot around resort more comfortable. The smooth, easy flex is never punishing to use, it encourages good technique, helping skiers make the most of the balanced stance. Prolite construction produces a light boot that is both powerful and sensitive and also fits extremely well. Customisation comes from the heat-moulding of the Memory Fit shell and liner, evening out any pressure and improving the shape; Thinsulate is used for warmth. Ability Level Boots8 Overview Fit Medium fit around the heel and ankle, medium to high instep, medium to wide across the forefoot. Shell PU Memory Fit shell and cuff, mouldable. The advanced heat fitting technology of Memory Fit creates a fully personalised shell and cuff in minutes. The key is Memolink, a special additive that improves the mouldability and stretch characteristics of the plastic. The boot shell is heated in an oven, then the skier's foot is placed inside the complete boot whilst it cools. With the foot's natural standing pressure, the forefoot of the boot can expand up to 3mm per side and the ankle area up to 5mm per side. Liner 3D Gold, mouldable. Thermoformable material is used in the heel, ankle and midfoot areas. The liner is heated in an oven and is cooled to form to the shape of the skier's feet. 3D means pre-shaped heel and ankles areas for better foot hold and comfort. Key Features Prolite Prolite is a way of building skis and boots that turns traditional thinking on its head. Instead of starting with a standard construction and cutting material away to save weight, Prolite does the opposite. It starts with the slimmest possible profile and then it builds up reinforcements in key areas where strength is needed. Energy Backbone The Energy Backbone is a reinforced, asymmetric backbone that provides extra strength for powerful skiing plus enhanced lateral energy transmission for better edge grip. Read more about Ellis Brigham
Ellis Brigham was born in 1933, the brainchild of Frederick Ellis Brigham, who set up business making cycling shoes and walking boots in a tiny 'two up, two down' building on the outskirts of Manchester.
After the war, as mountain walking and climbing became more and more popular, the shop began to sell ex-WD climbing equipment and Brigham's boots with their special nailing patterns became very sought after.
Fast forward almost 80 years and Ellis Brigham now has 24 shops across the UK and a leading website, making it the UK's premier retailer for ski hardware, mountaineering equipment and outdoor clothing.
