Atomic s Redster J4 is a piste ski that has the spirit of a race model without the tricky handling or price tag. It s ideal for younger skiers who now have good technique but maybe don t have the weight or power to drive a stiff ski. It has the construction of an adult model, with a Light Woodcore and Dura Cap Sidewalls, just no metal layers or reinforcement. This means it has precise handling and good energy to make the most of the piste focused shape, for quick turns and lively performance. Terrain Type & Ability Level Terrain Type Very much aimed at pistes thanks to its shape and width, but we can be sure that what it is designed for and what it does are very different. You could put a kid on concrete block skis and they d still find some bumps to jump off and tracks to explore, and the Redster J4 will definitely encourage progression and adventure. Skier Type Piste skiers that are now looking for more performance from a ski without having to go to something too stiff. The Light Woodcore and Dura Cap Sidewall construction ensure lively response and precision. Overview Shape The narrow waist means quick turns and fast edge-to-edge response. A short radius helps with carving; the slim tail ensures the ski doesn t hook-up and feel like the tail is dictating the end of the turn, the skier can easily choose between carving and sliding. Rocker Active Camber uses no rocker, this increases effective edge contact for better edge grip on icy slopes and stability. Core A mix of Light Woodcore and Densolite. A poplar wood optimises the ski s weight without sacrificing any shock absorption or stability. The Densolite helps dampen vibrations. Construction The Dura Cap Sidewall uses sidewall from base to top sheet, with a rounded shape at the top for increased durability Key Features Structured Topsheet A structured topsheet massively increases durability and gives a high-quality finish. Ellis Brigham was born in 1933, the brainchild of Frederick Ellis Brigham, who set up business making cycling shoes and walking boots in a tiny 'two up, two down' building on the outskirts of Manchester.

After the war, as mountain walking and climbing became more and more popular, the shop began to sell ex-WD climbing equipment and Brigham's boots with their special nailing patterns became very sought after.

Fast forward almost 80 years and Ellis Brigham now has 24 shops across the UK and a leading website, making it the UK's premier retailer for ski hardware, mountaineering equipment and outdoor clothing.
