Avigdor Arikha: Drawings & Selected Paintings (1953-1997) 2 Volumes
Merchant: Oxfam
Merchant's Category: Media> Books
2 books, hardcover with unclipped DJ. As new condition. These two pristine hardback copies of Avigdor Arikha's work, serve as a tribute to his fascinating life. Born in Bukovina, a German-speaking part of Romania, he survived the horrors of the Holocaust through the drawings he made as a young adolescent in the concentration camps. Published on the 1st January 1998, through Tel Aviv Museum of Art, "Drawings" was directed and curated chiefly by Mordechai Omer. "Selected Paintings...", published through Jerusalem: The Israel Museum during 1998 also, was curated by Meira Perry-Lehmann. Both books, with respective beige and green hardback covers in immaculate condition, serve as a testament to Arikha's long overdue celebration in Israel and the rest of the world too. 173 pages
