Battles of the Indian Mutiny by Michael Edwardes (1963) "The Mutiny has a very special place in the history of British India. One the British side more was written about it than about any other episode in the whole period of the British connextion. Indians, during the years of nationalist agitation before freedom came in 1947, saw it as a war of independence. Consequently the story of the Mutiny has been overlaid with a thick veneer of propaganda which, by concentrating on the social and political causes and consequences, has effectively obscured the military aspects. This book seeks to describe the Mutiny from a military view." Quoted from google books The book is in overall poor to fair condition. The hardback cover is in poor condition with scratches, surface marks and wear of the corners, edges and spine. Part of the leather of the spine is peeling away at the top and bottom. The pages are mostly in fair condition with only wear of the corners and some light foxing. The front free endpaper also appears to be missing.
