Bauhausstil Oder Konstruktivismus?

Modernism was significantly influenced by the ideals and aesthetic language of constructivism. With this publication the focus is for the first time on the close connection between fine and applied art as an overall aesthetic concept. Exhibits by important constructivist artists such as Theo van Doesburg, El Lissitzky, Wassily Kandinsky and Willi Baumeister confront the groundbreaking works of applied art. Examples from product design, typography and architecture are integrated into the context of constructivist art in order to illustrate the common formal language and their influence on society as a whole. Models of the Weissenhofsiedlung and the Bauhaus Dessau, posters by Jan Tschichold and Willi Baumeister as well as the Frankfurt kitchen and the "Wassily" armchair B3 by Marcel Breuer are shown. It becomes clear that modern development was not only supported and driven by a single institution, but by several centres in Germany: the Bauhaus in Weimar and Dessau as well as Frankfurt, Hanover, Berlin and Stuttgart. In German language. This copy is as new, still in it's shrunk-wrapped plastic cover
