Betnovate scalp application is a treatment for seborrheic dermatitis affecting the scalp and psoriasis affecting the scalp. It contains the active ingredient Betamethasone Valerate which is a corticosteroid. This treatment will reduce inflammation. What causes inflammation and how do Betnovate scalp application help to treat it? The inflammation is caused by various substances releasing which are produced by the immune system. These substances cause the blood vessels to widen,and this causes the area to become red, swollen, itchy and painful as is seen in eczema or dermatitis. When you apply Betnovate scalp application to the skin it will work inside the skin cells to decrease the release of the inflammatory substances which then will reduce swelling, redness and itching. Warnings and Precations: Should not be used if you are allergic to any of the ingredients, have a skin infection on the scalp or on a child under 1 years old. If you are pregnant, breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or planning on having a baby, please advise your doctor. Stop using the Betnovate immediately and contact your doctor if you notice signs of an allergic reaction,if your condition worsens, you develop a generalised rash, skin becomes swollen or skin has bumps with pus under. Ingredients: The active ingredient is Betamethasone Valerate. The other ingredients are: Carbomer Isopropyl alcohol Sodium hydroxide Purified water.
