This pattern was inspired by the jali, which are ornately carved marble lattice screens used in palaces for privacy, in place of windows. The clutch sparkles in so many ways, from the tiny halo of metallic thread around each turquoise stone to the textured and smooth metallic threads. Expertly hand-embroidered by zardozi artisans. Zardozi means "gold thread" or "writing with gold". It is an elaborate and intricate art of 3D embroidery using metallic threads and semi-precious stones. Zardozi is a centuries-old embroidery technique once reserved for royalty, but now available to you.
