This Liquid Clear Base Coat from Bob Ross is one of three potential base coats you can purchase that are fantastic when trying out the wet-on-wet technique that is so prevalent throughout all of Bob Ross's paintings that became popular from his Joy of Painting show that skyrocketed to become a cultural phenomenon. This will provide a clear base coat on the canvas though you can choose from liquid white, black or clear to help properly blend and mix the paints straight onto the canvas instead of working it yourself on the palette which can take far longer. This liquid white, black and clear is also helpful as a way to thin your colours when applying them over thicker paints.
