A classic compact disc-package from the collectable Eighties, released on the desirable "Decca"-label. It features Volume Four of the Piano Works, that were composed by the Hungarian-born legend, that was Franz "Ferenc" Liszt (1811-86). The soloist, on these September & *December 1982 recordings, is the Cuban-born (later, a naturalized U.S. citizen) virtuoso, Jorge Bolet (1914-90). 1) Sposalizio (7:37). 2) Il Penseroso (4:08). 3) Canzonetta del Salvator Rosa (3:03). 4) Soneto 47 del Petrarca (5:41). 5) Soneto 104 del Petrarca (6:56). 6) Soneto 123 del Petrarca (6:51). 7) *Apres une lecture du Dante (Fantasia quasi Sonata) (16:13). Cover opens into a 12-page, EX- condition, mono - except for the Front Cover - booklet, containing : Front-Cover portrait, probably the most famous painting of Liszt, by M. Barabas 1846 ; Quality, page-sized stills of Liszt & Bolet (samples Photos Two & Three) ; Tracklisting with timings ; Performance & recording-credits ; Interesting two-page essay, by B. Morrison, printed in English, German & French languages. The CD is in VG condition.
