The Bontrager Rally WaveCel mountain bike helmet is an off-road helmet with WaveCel technology that balances comfort and performance for trail riders who value safety. Rally WaveCel is a high-style, high-value off-road helmet with waveCel and trail-specific features such as BOA Fit System lets you easily secure and adjust your helmet to fit with one hand. Adjustable visor offers multiple coverage options. Extended back-of-helmet shell offers additional rear protection. Soft, comfortable and moisture-wicking washable helmet pads add convenience to functionality and safety. What is Wavecel? Standard foam-lined helmets are designed to reduce the impact to the skull and are tested by a drop impact. This does not take into account the movement the impact inflicts on the head, which often causes trauma to the brain. Wavecel not only protects from impact, but it also reduces the rotation of the head at the point of impact, therefore, decreasing trauma to the brain. This is done by creating a 3d mesh, the shape of which can absorb impact from any angle or movement. A standard foam helmet reduces the risk of concussion injury to 53% a Wavecel helmet reduces that further to 1.2%.
