A photographic collection of Phil Cleaver's exhibition in colour, displaying over fifty of his folded books around Winterbourne House in 2022. Phil's works are made by folding the pages of a book, often following the grid on each page, forming the work's shape. the book becomes unreadable in a traditional sense, and the viewer is made to engage not with the text inside, but its design and typographic appearance from the outside. The books initial text is therefore transformed into an abstract arrangement of letterforms, through the folded pages. He also uses collage and ephemera to tell a story to the viewer, often relating to the narrative of the chosen book. The folded book becomes a canvas to the artist displaying various visual languages and meanings. A 8vo in pictorial cardboard covers with colour photographic pastedowns. Unpaginated, front top corner is slightly creased with a tiny chipping due to bumping; another dot is rubbed away to front base of spine. Otherwise in very good condition.
