Bristol Porcelain

The Bristol areas porcelain industry dates back to the 1740s, and this volume is a comprehensive guide to its history and context. Written for the collector of porcelain, we are guided through the history of porcelain factories and the crossing of early American made porcelain into the UK throughout the 1700s, looking particularly at the Redcliffe Backs factory as a case study. We also see the peculiarities of specifically Bristolian porcelain, the glazes and shapes, and the styles of products made, finishing with a large section of over 60 plates of photographs and images of porcelain examples. A great book for porcelain enthusiasts and collectors, and for those with an interest in local history. The book itself is in good condition, there is some wear and marking to the cover cloth, but beyond that it is internally clean and clear, and still well bound.
