The fictional Venetian detective Commisario Guido Brunetti, like Sicily's Inspector Salvo Montalbano, is very fond of his food. So is the woman who invented him, Donna Leon. And the talented Venetian cook, whose dishes have delighted her for many decades, here contributes her culinary wisdom in the form of a great many Italian recipes. Alongside them Donna Leon has supplied entertaining extracts from her many detective novels, some of which feature the same recipes. A beautifully produced cookbook, with literary associations, and definitely one for anyone fond of Italian cuisine.
