This Busch Burr Starter Set contains 24 assorted high quality burrs which have been produced from a single piece of hardened steel and are characterised by a stable design which provides a precise power cut and optimum concentricity, ideal for preparing and giving shape to settings or adding pattern to a surface. The Starter Set is an essential for any jewellery maker, it includes: 6 x Busch Burr Round No.1 (1.5, 2, 2.3, 2.5, 3, 3.5mm) 4 x Busch Burr Cylinder Twist Cut No. 21 (1, 1.6, 2.1, 2.3mm) 4 x Busch Burr Cylinder Cross Cut No. 36 (1, 1.6, 2.1, 2.5mm) 4 x Busch Burr 90? Bearing Cutter No. 414 (2, 2.5, 3, 3.5mm) 4 x Busch Burr 90? Stone Setting Burr No. 413 (2, 2.5, 3, 3.5mm) 2 x Busch Burr Bud No. 6 (2.5, 2.7mm) They are designed to be used in conjunction with a pendant drill, hobby drill, micromotor or even a pin vice such as 999 AKK or 999 332 to cut or grind away, shape or give pattern to a surface. Suitable to be used on metal, wax and plastics. Each burr`s construction consists of a number of teeth/blades (in a spherical shape) mounted onto a 2.34mm shank. The shank fits into the collet/chuck of the drill, and when turned these teeth cut into and remove the surface being worked upon. Quantity of material removed depends on pressure applied, use of `Burr Life lubricant` (998 021) helps prolong the burrs cutting ability. Supplied in a handy sliding box.
