It is a compact, fully automatic 8-step battery charger that delivers a selectable 0.8A or 5.0A to 12V batteries from 1.2 to 110Ah, and it can also be used for maintenance charging up to 160Ah. The unique display allows you to follow the entire charging process.The MXS 5.0 battery charger can solve a broad range of battery-related problems and is the perfect charger for those with high demands. The CTEK MXS 5.0 offers features such as battery diagnosis that shows if a battery can receive and retain a charge, a special reconditioning function that restores stratified and deeply discharged batteries, unique maintenance charging, a mode for optimised charging during cold winter days and the charging of demanding AGM batteries (e.g. Optima).The CTEK 5.0 is supplied with two different battery leads, one with clamps and a comfort indicator with M8 eyelet terminals, all colour coded for easy +/- identification. If the battery is difficult to access, the lead with eyelet terminals can be mounted to the battery, and the quick connectors are located so that it is easily reached for charging. Additional leads are available allowing you to have one lead with eyelet terminals fixed to all your vehicles with batteries that are difficult to get at, and charge them simply from the same charger.IP65 splash and dust proof, non-sparking, reverse polarity protected, and short circuit proof.The MXS 5.0 features a 5-year manufacturers warranty.Comfort IndicatorA practical combination of quick connector and indicator for those with batteries that are difficult to access. The ""traffic light"" indicator shows the battery s charge level simply and clearly. The M8 eyelet terminals are fitted to the battery, giving effortless connection without the need of actually reaching the battery.The CTEK Comfort Indicator uses a simple 'traffic light' system to show the state of charge of your battery. A flashing green light shows that the battery does not require charging. Orange means the battery should be charged to avoid harmful acid stratification. A red light warns that the battery is discharged to a point where sulphation (the main battery killer) is occurring and also that the vehicle may be in danger of not starting.Should charging be required the cap can be removed from the unit and a the CTEK MXS 5.0 charger plugged in directly to restore the battery to fully charged status.
