Celebrating Antonia Forest

Merchant's Category: Media> Books
Over fifty pages of text which Antonia Forest originally wrote for Run Away Home, which have never before been available, are now published in Celebrating Antonia Forest, together with an explanatory introduction by Hilary Clare, who knew the author personally. The book also includes eight fascinating papers on Antonia Forest and her books, by specialists in different aspects of her life and work; the authors were all speakers at the 2006 conference in her honour, and they have now revised their talks for publication. Sue Sims, an organiser of the conference and Antonia Forest's literary executor, was one of the speakers, and her biographical paper contains many previously unpublished photographs of the author, her family, and places of importance in her life. In addition, Sue provides a detailed introduction to the conference and its background, and there are many pictures from it, as well as illustrations to the papers, details of the Forest-related 'Words and Music' entertainment, and an Antonia Forest quiz (with answers provided). Girls Gone By edition published in 2008. In very good condition generally with light shelf wear, including minor scratches/dents and slightly cocked spine.
