The Barton family are one of the longest-standing winemaking dynasties in Bordeaux. Since 1722, 10 generations of the family have lived and worked there, producing high quality wines in the prestigious Saint-Julien appellation. This Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blend has spent 18 months ageing in oak barrels, giving it fantastically smooth tannins and a smoky complexity. An additional decade in bottle means that it's already beautifully mature, with notes of blackberry, raspberry, cedar and mint, plus touches of cassis and graphite. It'll continue to age well for another eight years, but if you can't wait to try it, pair it with roasted red meats like beef or lamb.
